Summer Road Trip

For the past few months, Michael and I have had no idea what this summer holds. Many jobs were applied for, many internships were applied for, yet nothing seemed to fall into place. Our backup plan was for Michael to take summer classes, but then we found out the school was not going to be paying for master's stipends for summer sessions. So about week ago, Michael and I were just bummed that we had no plans, and bummed that we were just in a sense "stuck" for the summer. So I said "lets go on a road trip." At first only jokingly, but within 30 minutes we decided that this could actually work!!! A few days after that, Michael was given the opportunity to assist a professor for 10 weeks with his research. The Lord is good and always provides just what we need. We are not only financially supported through the summer, but we are still going to be able to go on our road trip! So where are we going you might ask...

It is going to be a lot of driving, but we are beyond excited!

June 3 - Head from College Station, Tx to Statesville, Nc. We are going to stay in Statesville until the 8. While in NC, we are going to be able to see two of our dear friends, Micah and Amy, get married, as well as, spend a lot of time with our families!

June 8 - We will head to Ohio. We will stay there for two nights. We will see my grandparents, plus we plan on going to Cedar Point for the day. Michael has been telling me about Cedar Point since we started dating, so it has to be a point in our trip.

June 10 - We will head to South Dakota. and stay there until the 13th. We will see buffalo, Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands.

June 13 - We will head to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We will stay there until the 15.

June 15 - We are heading to the Redwoods in CA.

June 17 - We will head to San Francisco.

June 18 - We will head to LA.

June 20 - We will head to the Grand Canyon where we will take a 2 night backpacking trip to the bottom of the Canyon and see the Colorado river.

June 22 - We will head to Estes Park, CO where we will see the Dunkin family and Michael will have his first opportunity to hike the Rocky Mountains.

June 26 - We will leave Estes Park and stay in northern Texas.

June 27 - We will arrive back home in College Station.

We are beyond excited to spend our one year anniversary together on the road. When we arrive home, Michael will continue with his research and I will have several teacher conferences and volleyball camps. We will update our blog as often as possible during our trip for all of you to see and experience our trip with us! Love you all and guess what??? We get to see a lot of you very soon. By the way, NC people please come see us while we are in town!!!
