DIY NCState Backboard

Yes, you heard right!  We loved on our backboard.  You know because we are the two most awesome basketball players fans alive, ok well we inherited one with the house.  It was basically just black and old when we got it until we looked closely.  Notice the color, black and baby blue.  Yeah, not happening.  Plus, I got Michael a basketball and net as part of his Christmas presents.

We started by taping what was going to be the white accents. Then spray painting the rest of the board red.
This is what it looked like when we removed the tape.

Of course, we had to make the attempt at adding our Block S.  I printed a block S then thickened the lines with a permanent marker.  I used a box cutter to cut out what I wanted to be white.

Finished product.

Now, we taped up the red.  We used cardboard and painters tape.

Dang, the cardboard didn't work.  I think plastic may have been a better choice.   So we waited for it to dry, taped the white again, then repainted a layer of red.  After, we covered the backboard with a clear sealant for extra protection.
Reassemble and....

o yeah, we know you want one.
